Dr. Bill Cassidy is a Congressman representing Louisiana's 6th Congressional District. He is also a practicing Hepatologist on faculty as an Associate Professor of Medicine with LSU Health Science Center. He was elected to Congress in 2008. He serves on the Energy & Commerce Committee and its Health Subcommittee. He trained at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and did his residency and fellowship at the University of Southern California. Prior to his election to Congress, his research interests and professional activities included public health immunization programs and the treatment of viral hepatitis.
